How Is Atomberg Preparing for Its Planned ₹2,000 Crore IPO?
Consumer appliances startup Atomberg has taken a major step towards its stock market debut by converting itself into a public limited company and appointing three independent directors to its board. The move comes as the company accelerates preparations for its proposed ₹2,000 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO).
According to regulatory filings accessed by Entrackr, shareholders have approved changing the company’s name from Atomberg Technologies Private Limited to Atomberg Technologies Limited, a mandatory step before filing the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI.
Company Converts Into Public Limited Entity
Atomberg has officially changed its legal status from a private limited company to a public limited company after receiving shareholder approval.
This transition is a crucial milestone for companies planning to list on Indian stock exchanges, as it enables them to proceed with regulatory filings and strengthen governance ahead of an IPO.
Three Independent Directors Join the Board
As part of its IPO readiness, Atomberg has appointed three independent directors:
- Subhasis Chaudhuri, former Director of IIT Bombay
- Suman Gopalan, former CHRO of Freshworks
- Anand Vora, former CFO of UPL
The appointments are aimed at strengthening the company’s corporate governance and meeting public market requirements before the DRHP filing.
Leadership Changes to Drive Next Phase of Growth
Earlier in April 2026, Atomberg announced a leadership restructuring.
Co-founder Shibam Das was elevated as the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), while Manoj Meena became Chairman and Managing Director.
Meena now also leads Atomberg Innovation, the company’s engineering arm focused on developing advanced motor technologies, drives, and cooling solutions.
Engineering Arm May Raise Fresh Capital
According to an earlier report by The Economic Times, Atomberg Innovation is in talks to raise ₹150–200 crore in a funding round led by General Catalyst.
The engineering business is expected to be valued between ₹1,500 crore and ₹1,700 crore.
The report also stated that Avendus and IIFL Capital have been appointed as bankers for Atomberg’s proposed ₹2,000 crore IPO.
From Energy-Efficient Fans to Smart Appliances
Founded in 2012 by Manoj Meena and Shibam Das, Atomberg initially built its brand around BLDC motor-powered ceiling fans.
Since then, the company has expanded into several consumer appliance categories, including:
- Mixer grinders
- Smart locks
- Water purifiers
- Other smart home appliances
Its technology-first approach has helped it emerge as one of India’s leading premium appliance brands.
FY25 Revenue Crosses ₹1,000 Crore
While Atomberg is yet to announce its FY26 financial results, the company delivered strong growth in FY25.
Key highlights include:
- Total income crossed ₹1,000 crore
- Operating revenue increased 20% to ₹958.4 crore
- Net loss reduced 41% to ₹117.4 crore
The company is backed by global investment firm Temasek, which has supported its expansion in India’s consumer appliances market.
What’s Next?
With its conversion into a public company, appointment of experienced independent directors, and leadership restructuring already completed, Atomberg has entered the final phase of its IPO preparations. Investors will now await the filing of the DRHP and the company’s FY26 financial results, which are expected to provide greater clarity on its financial performance, valuation, and listing timeline.
