Another Senior Executive Exit At BharatPe

Fintech unicorn BharatPe is witnessing another key leadership departure as its Group Chief Product Officer (CPO) Rohan Khara has resigned from the company, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Sources indicated that Khara is expected to continue with BharatPe until August 2026 to facilitate a smooth transition before formally moving on from the organization.

The development comes at a crucial time for BharatPe as the company strengthens its leadership structure and prepares for a potential public market listing over the next two years.

What Was Rohan Khara’s Role At BharatPe?

Khara held multiple strategic responsibilities during his tenure at BharatPe.

As Group Chief Product Officer, he led the company’s product organization while also overseeing marketing initiatives in his capacity as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). During a period when BharatPe did not have a full-time technology leader, he additionally served as Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

More recently, Khara had been spearheading BharatPe’s artificial intelligence initiatives and overseeing several AI-driven projects aimed at improving products, operational efficiency, and customer experience.

His role placed him at the center of several critical technology and business transformation efforts within the company.

Khara joined BharatPe in February 2024 from FairMoney, where he served as India Managing Director.

Before FairMoney, he held leadership positions at Gojek and MobiKwik, building extensive experience across product management, technology, growth, and digital financial services.

Sources say he worked closely with BharatPe’s senior management team on several strategic initiatives and played a key role in driving execution across multiple business functions.

What’s Next For Rohan Khara?

According to sources, Khara is expected to take a break after leaving BharatPe.

While no formal plans have been announced, people familiar with the matter indicated that he may explore entrepreneurial opportunities in the future.

However, discussions regarding his next venture or professional move remain preliminary.

Neither BharatPe nor Khara had publicly commented on the development at the time of publication.

BharatPe Continues Leadership Reshuffle

Khara’s departure follows a series of leadership changes at BharatPe over the past year.

In April 2026, co-founder Shashvat Nakrani stepped down from his role as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effectively ending the active operational involvement of the company’s founding team.

Nakrani stated at the time that he was considering returning to entrepreneurship while continuing to remain associated with BharatPe at a strategic level.

Earlier, co-founder Bhavik Koladiya exited the company in 2022, while BharatPe resolved its long-standing disputes with former co-founder Ashneer Grover through a settlement reached in September 2024.

Preparing For A Public Market Debut

Despite leadership transitions, BharatPe has continued strengthening its management team as it moves toward a potential IPO.

In March 2026, the company appointed Himanshu Verma to lead its point-of-sale (POS) business.

The fintech firm is targeting a public listing by the end of FY27 or during the first half of FY28.

Backed by investors including Coatue Management, BharatPe currently serves more than 10 million merchants through its payments and financial services platform.

The company reported a profit of Rs 6 crore on operating revenue of Rs 1,800 crore in FY25, marking a significant milestone as it advances toward profitability and public market readiness.
