TVS Motor Strengthens Leadership in India’s EV Two-Wheeler Market

India’s electric two-wheeler market maintained strong momentum in July 2026, with registrations remaining above 1.93 lakh units. According to the latest Vahan data, TVS Motor further widened its lead by crossing the 50,000 registration milestone, while rivals Ola Electric and Ather Energy recorded month-on-month declines.

The latest figures highlight the intensifying competition in India’s fast-growing electric mobility sector, where established automakers continue to strengthen their market positions amid shifting consumer preferences.

TVS Crosses 52,000 Registrations

TVS Motor emerged as the market leader in July with 52,538 EV two-wheeler registrations, capturing a 27.15% market share.

The company recorded a 10.8% month-on-month growth, adding 5,125 more registrations compared to June. The performance further consolidates TVS’s leadership position in the country’s electric scooter segment.

Bajaj Holds Second Position

Bajaj Auto retained the second spot with 43,607 registrations, accounting for a 22.53% market share.

Unlike other major manufacturers, Bajaj remained largely stable during the month, registering only a marginal increase from 43,504 units in June.

Ather and Hero Witness Decline

Ather Energy remained the third-largest EV two-wheeler manufacturer with 28,819 registrations and a 14.89% market share.

However, the company recorded an 8.3% month-on-month decline, with registrations falling by 2,616 units compared to June.

Hero MotoCorp secured the fourth position with 21,174 registrations, representing a 10.94% market share. The company also reported a modest 3.3% decline in monthly registrations.

Ola Electric Sees Sharpest Drop Among Leaders

Ola Electric remained in fifth place with 13,170 registrations, capturing a 6.80% market share.

The company recorded one of the steepest declines among the leading EV manufacturers, with registrations dropping 19% month-on-month. Sales fell by 3,079 units from 16,249 registrations recorded in June.

Meanwhile, Greaves Electric Mobility followed with 9,701 registrations and a 5.01% market share, after witnessing an 11.3% decline over the previous month.

Smaller Players Continue to Gain Momentum

Among the fastest-growing brands in the top ten, BGauss posted the strongest monthly growth, with registrations rising 33.9% to 5,324 units.

River Mobility followed closely, recording a 24.8% increase to 5,554 registrations.

Other emerging players also reported healthy growth:

  • Simple Energy grew 11.2% month-on-month to 1,532 registrations
  • Lectrix EV entered the top 10 after registrations increased 22.8% to 1,335 units

Market Competition Intensifies

While TVS and Bajaj continued strengthening their positions, the decline in registrations for Ola Electric and Ather indicates increasing competition in India’s electric two-wheeler market.

At the same time, the strong growth recorded by newer brands such as BGauss, River Mobility, Simple Energy, and Lectrix EV reflects rising consumer acceptance of multiple EV manufacturers, making the segment increasingly competitive.
